Our landing pod will consist of a shell made of the top of a water bottle. The interior consists of a cloth padding (a sweatshirt) to maximize shock absorption. This will provide maximum protection for the egg. Our pod will fit on top of NASA's new rocket.
Results: NASA's rocket failed to launch, but our pod stayed intact. The egg survived in our landing pod, with slight burn marks on the shell.
Measurement: We measured the height of the launch by first standing exactly 40 meters away from the launchpad, then we measured the angle of the apogee (the maximum height of the rocket). We used the altitude formula, a=d x tan(0) to calculate how high the rocket actually went.
